NZB File Validator (nzbval)
Check your news server and make sure all the parts of a .NZB file
are present before downloading
Nzbval is a free program that is designed to test .NZB files for
you. It will check the attachments contained in the NZB file against your news
server and verify whether all of the attachments are present or not. This will
allow you to ensure that the files contained in the NZB can be downloaded
without any problems. It can save you a great deal of time as some newsreader
tools do not check the NZB before downloading, which can lead you to waste time
downloading files that are incomplete. Nzbval is not itself a downloader -- it's
just a "test" program -- but you can use a binary newsreaders such as Android Newsgroup Downloader
that includes built-in NZB support as your downloader.

The current version is 1.1, released 06-22-2006. This
software runs under the Windows operating system (Windows
95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP). This software does NOT contain any adware or spyware.
This software is distributed as a freeware application and is free for
noncommercial use.

The user's manual describes the operation of the program.
Below is a screen shot of the nzbval utility, showing you what it does.
As you can see, it's validating a NZB file that contains some Enya music CDs.
Each part in the NZB is checked, until the whole NZB has been validated. As
long as it says "Success", you know that part of the post is
complete. If instead it lists an error message (such as "430 No such
article"), then part of the post is missing some files, and the post is not
complete.

Recommended NZB Downloaders:
I recommend using Android
Newsgroup Downloader to download NZB files. Android makes an excellent NZB
downloader -- you can open NZB files that you already have directly into the
newsreader, and you can also use Android to download the NZBs themselves,
which you can then import with just a single click.
